Since Fusion-Tech nano ceramic compounds are added to lubricants, they are often thought of as lubricant additives. In fact, they are not. Lubricants are the delivery system. SAE J357 of October 1999 defines additives as follows: “A lubricant additive agent is a material designed to enhance the performance properties of the base stock or to improve the base stock properties that do not naturally exist with the base stock.”
